I’m Miquel, from Batea, Tarragona — in the region where Spanish vermouth was born.

In Spain, el vermut means Sunday at midday, tapas shared, a glass poured, and time that slows down. It’s simple, but it’s everything.

When I moved to Melbourne, I loved the city — the coffee, the food, the energy. But I missed the ritual: the wines, the vermouth, the tapas, and the feeling of gathering around a table.

So I started sharing it with friends. They loved it — the flavours, the stories, the experience. That’s when the idea struck: why not bring this ritual here for everyone to enjoy?

That’s how Vermut began. Today, we work with small producers across Spain — families and makers I’ve known all my life — bringing their vermouth, wines, and conservas to Australia. Everything here belongs to that Sunday ritual.
